A Brief User's Guide to "Scannable Images: Materialities of Post-Cinema after Video"
Karin + Shane Denson
Scannable Images consists of two virtual “walls” or installation spaces:
glitchesarelikewildanimals!
Participatory Poverty
Before viewing one of them, please download the "Wikitude" app onto your smartphone or tablet (available in your app store). Wikitude is a browser for augmented reality (AR) scenarios, and it will be needed in order to view a variety of video and text overlays that will be superimposed onto the images on your screen.
When Wikitude is installed on your mobile device, you will first need to open either
glitchesarelikewildanimals! or
Participatory Poverty on your computer, and then load the appropriate AR channel in the Wikitude app on your smartphone or tablet.
To do so, search in the app for the title of the scenario you've chosen: either "glitchesarelikewildanimals!" or "ParticipatoryPoverty".
Finally, once the AR scenario is loaded, point your smartphone or tablet at your computer screen and have fun exploring the virtual installation!
To switch between scenarios, just press "Back" in the Wikitude app and search once more for the other scenario.
